PubCoder, in collaboration with De Agostini Books and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, is launching a contest to find interactive digital books dedicated to an under-18 audience.

We are looking for a book that tells a story, exploiting the possibilities presented by the new tablet technology. A book that is designed to be read, watched, touched and heard, creating a highly engaging reading experience.

Imagine a book for everybody, made by someone who is able to return to their childhood, when they were curious and full of energy, to ponder things and take delight in the surprising and the unexpected.

The first three projects, selected by the jury of promoters, will share a prize of 10,000 euros.

But above and beyond the lowly lure of money this is a unique chance to promote your work as all of the projects presented will be examined and considered for publication by DeAgostini (one of the most important European publishers). The works in the competition will also be presented at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, which will also host the award ceremony, during the 2014 fair.

To take part in the contest, which is being launched on the Zooppa platform, you will need to submit an interactive book developed with PubCoder, in EPUB3 Fixed Layout format, optimized for iPad.

Don’t worry if the book isn’t finished though! It’s sufficient for you to produce a few pages and give us an idea of the storyboard as a whole. We’re well aware that good ideas take time!
